Ashwagandha Extract, 2 oz.
Withania somnifera

Ashwagandha holds a premier place in the Ayurvedic pharmacopeia. It is both a rasayana herb, meaning one that aids the quality of life and longevity, as well as an adaptogen, an herb that improves our ability to cope with stress. This herb has a multitude of uses but to understand how research of prized Indian herbs is conducted, it is useful to consider how well an herb protects the patient from damaging changes when exposed to chemical, metallic, or radioactive hazards and how successfully the herb protects against free radicals. Ashwagandha is very high on the list of such valuable herbs, but it is most often used to improve male potency and endurance.

Cat's Claw Herbal Extract, 2 oz.

Cat's Claw Extract, 2 oz.
Uncaria tomentosa

Uncaria tomentosa is a rain forest herb with demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties. It is therefore often used for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Preliminary studies suggest that cat's claw slows tumor growth and that it enhances immunity. It is safe in the recommended doses; side effects are usually associated with possible allergic reactions to plants in the Rubiaceae family.

As more and more studies are being conducted, interest in cat's claw has come to include AIDS (in conjunction with Jergon Sacha) and Lyme disease. There are a few studies suggesting that this herb is capable of such actions because it is not only a superb free-radical scavenger but also promotes the repair of DNA.

Alcohol: 45%

Contents: extract of Uncaria tomentosa bark in distilled water, organic grain alcohol, and pure vegetable glycerin.

Guduchi Extract, 2 oz.
Tinospora cordifolia

Guduchi is one of the most famous detoxifying herbs in the Ayurvedic pharmacopeia. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and improves cognitive functioning and recall, but its main claim to fame is its power to reduce ama (toxins) and even to protect the body from the harmful effects of toxic substances. It enjoys the status of a rasayana or rejuvenative herb and was traditionally used for three years in order to promote longevity and imperviousness to toxins.

Guduchi can be used long-term to reduce symptoms related to excess pitta and to kindle agni, i.e. substituting toxic fire with purifying fire.

Alcohol: 39-41%

Japanese Knotweed, 2 oz
Polygonum cuspidatum

Japanese knotweed is presently prized mainly for its very high reservatrol content, but in traditional Chinese medicine, it is used mainly to detoxify the blood and improve circulation. Recent studies suggest that Polygonum cuspidatum is antimicrobial and antimutagenic. It is also an excellent antioxidant. Even more recently, Japanese knotweed has been widely used by Lyme-infected patients to reduce damage to the nervous system due to toxins. It is regarded as more useful against the co-infections than the spirochete itself.

Alcohol: 29-31%

Contents: Polygonum cuspidatum root in Distilled Water, Organic Alcohol, and Vegetable Glycerin.

Shilajit Paste, purified, 30 grams

This shilajit is traditional, meaning that the raw material was harvested when the sun was beating against the slopes of the high Himalayas and processed again and again with water and then with herbs, mainly the three fruits used to make triphala. This is the form one should use to take shilajit. It is intensely bitter unless diluted in water or tea. It dissolves in water if stirred occasionally. The normal dose is half a gram to one gram per day, preferably two hours before eating. One package will therefore last 1-2 months. Shilajit is an extremely valuable source of trace minerals and is typically regarded as nourishing to the brain.

Alcohol: none

Contents: purified shilajit from the Nepalese Himalayas in paste form.
